times. The artwork shown on these pages are

Max Guéguen, using the techniques of the
medieval illuminator of manuscripts
and miniaturist, works out of his
studio in Bayonne, a medieval city dating back
to the 3rd century.
Heraldic art is an exceptionally beautiful art form, covered in mystery
and symbolism. This unique art craft requires great skill and inventiveness
where the artist's imagination has to live in a different era of nobility and
tradition. Using the traditonal techniques of Illumination Max Gueguen follows the strictest definition of the term where an illuminated manuscript only refers to manuscripts decorated with gold or silver.
The artist will accept commissions for new projects creating a "coat of arms" , crest or family tree as well as restoration projects of old or ancient manuscripts
