Illumination Odile Jobbe Duval

"I have been interested in the art of Illumination for many years. After completing my studies in the visual arts I had a desire to rediscover and learn more about the world of Illumination with it's rich expression of colour and elaborate preparation of pigments and materials (parchments & skins). The satisfaction of seeing the time and effort turn into the final piece of art is what inspires me.

Max Gueguen taught me to understand these ancient techniques better and it is with pleasure that I present you with some of my work. All pieces shown are done on natural parchment with original pigments and gilded with real gold leaf."
